Rummaging through one of the local charity shops today I came across the Ladybird Peter and Jane books that taught me how to read. I told Ellie they were the books that helped me to read and she wanted to see if they would help her too. She was so anxious to try, she demanded I got them out as soon as we got home, and she went for it. Blow me, if she hasn’t got all the words in the first book and most of the words in the second book already. She seems to be taking to reading very quickly. She has gone through the first book twice now, once with me and once with me and Chris, and she is still eager to keep learning.

I can’t believe she is doing so well so fast. If this is how she does at home with me, I expect a lot from her in school with proper teachers!

It all reminds me again how fast she is growing up.
